Raymond F. Boykin is currently a Research Professor at Virginia State University (VSU) in Information Logistics Technology and the SAP Fellow.  He is also Professor Emeritus at California State University, Chico (CSU, Chico).  At CSU, Chico, Ray was the Director of the SAP Program and University Competence Center for 14 years.  He was a member of the team that established CSU, Chico as the first SAP America university partner, the first SAP America University Alliance Program member and was the project director in establishing the first SAP America academic hosting center in 1999. 

Ray has published or presented over 70 papers in the areas of enterprise systems, supply chain management, operations management, and risk assessment and management.  He has been a speaker at over 30 workshops, co-authored a book entitled Enterprise Integration (Prentice Hall) in 2001, and has received over 40 research/development grants totaling more than $15 million. Ray’s current research interests are enterprise resource planning (SAP ERP), logistics information systems and supply chain risk.

Ray received the SAP Madji Najm Outstanding Service Award in 2012 for his 15 years of service to the SAP University Alliance Program and for his leadership in establishing the first SAP academic hosting center in the Americas in 1999.  Ray has received numerous teaching and faculty awards at CSUC; they include five Outstanding Faculty awards and eight Outstanding Teacher awards, including the Chico Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year.  Prior to joining the faculty at CSUC in 1986 Ray held career positions at PLG, Monsanto, and Rockwell International.  His industry experiences have included: supply chain management, SAP ERP implementation, production planning models, materials management, and probabilistic risk analysis. Ray is also on the board of Makaira Ministries (affiliated with OM International) and Feeding Nations Through Education (http://www.feedingnations.org).  Ray received his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Management Science) at St. Louis University, his M.S. in Business Administration (Management Science) at San Diego State University, and his B.A. in Business Administration (Quantitative Methods) at California State University, Fullerton.
